THE COLOUR ACCOUNTING WORKSHOP

A one-day (6 hours) live/remote Workshop for youth ages 16 to 30 and for young entrepreneurs.

WHAT IS THE WORKSHOP ABOUT?

This is the complete WORKSHOP that puts in place the fundamentals of accounting and finance using a unique and intuitive visual framework. It then takes you to the next level by culminating in a case study that has you realize how far you have come. This workshop is the complete package for the utmost discovery.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN!

By improving your financial literacy, you will elevate your performance by:

  • Developing a deep understanding of the Balance Sheet

  • Deriving the Income Statement and understanding how it connects with the Balance Sheet

  • Clearly and unforgettably defining Assets, Liabilities, Equity, Revenue & Expenses

  • Integrating these five elements into a holistic view called the BaSIS Framework™

  • Understanding the Value Cycle of business

  • Practicing financial communication: grasping not only Terminology, but also the ambiguity of terms, and communication pitfalls

  • Identifying the drivers of cash flow, and how they are reported on the Cash Flow Statement

  • Analyzing financial statements of a business and identifying risk areas, performance changes, opportunities for improvement

  • Calculating financial measures, including EBITDA

  • Preparing budgets and forecasts

  • Communicate more powerfully with investors, regulator and partners

  • Understand your clients' businesses and pitch with confidence at a senior level

  • Promote financial leadership

REGISTRATION CRITERIA

All Registrants must meet the following criteria:

  • Between the ages 16 & 30

  • Be registered to an entrepreneurial or financial literacy program for entrepreneurs (like Jr Achievement, KPMG financial program)

    OR

  • Active business operating for <2 years or in pre-startup stage with a business plan

  • Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident with a good command of English

    *Admission to the program will be at the discretion of Financial Storytelling
